Presenting a poster? Here’s what you need to know.

If you have questions about submitting an abstract, email us at abstracts@ahssymposium.org; however, we urge you to read the instructions below, which likely contain the answers you’re looking looking for.

We welcome abstracts for talks and posters on virtually any MAR-related topic, including (but not limited to) the following:

  • Operations and maintenance
  • Economics and energy efficiency
  • Governance and regulation
  • Water quality and monitoring
  • Modeling

  • Climate change (drought, flooding, etc.)
  • Other (alternative recharge systems, land subsidence, thermal energy storage, etc.)

Submission guidelines

Deadline for submitting (NEW!): November 22, 2023

Evaluators will use the following criteria when deciding whether to accept your abstract:

  • Is the abstract a marketing effort rather than an information exchange through case studies?
  • Would our members find this topic interesting or innovative?
  • Is the talk off topic, political, or competitor bashing?

We reserve the right to edit for concision and clarity.

You must register (and pay) for BSMAR18 after your abstract is accepted in order to present a talk or poster.

Special opportunities for students

Stipends. To offset the cost of registration, we are offering $125 stipends for up to 10 Arizona students. Apply after we accept your abstract for a talk or poster. Download a stipend application here»

Poster competition. Undergraduate and graduate students can compete within their class level for first and second place awards from a pool of $1,500 in cash.
