ASU Flow 2025 Poster Session

Hosted at the 2025 Arizona Hydrological Society Annual Symposium

Wednesday, October 1, 2025, First day of the AHS Symposium

Location: Poster Session Room at We-Ko-Pa Casino Resort

We’re excited to announce that ASU Flow 2025 will be hosted in partnership with the Arizona Hydrological Society (AHS) at its Annual Symposium on October 1, 2025. This special poster session highlights innovative research by college students from across Arizona in hydrology, hydrosystems engineering and related water science fields.

We invite graduate students, faculty, water professionals and industry leaders to attend, present and network during this exciting event focused on the future of water research and innovation. Abstract submission details can be found in the ‘Call for Poster Abstracts’ section of this webpage, and registration information is available in the ‘Registration’ section.

Call for Poster Abstracts

College Students

College students from any institution are eligible to submit a poster abstract (≤ 300 words) summarizing their research objectives.
Submit your abstract to the ASU Flow Submittal Form.

For Practitioners, Professors, and Industry Participants

Non-student participants (including faculty, agency staff and private sector professionals) are also welcome to submit posters through the Symposium Submittal Form.

These posters will be showcased alongside student posters during the 3:30–5:30 p.m. poster session  and retained for the rest of the conference for conference participants to view.

Student Poster Judging

Student posters will be judged from 3:30–4:30 p.m. Please be present during this time to meet with judges and answer questions.

Winners will be announced during the closing ceremony at 5:30 p.m.

Poster Presenter Instructions

An in-person poster session will take place in the poster session room of the We-Ko-Pa Casino Resort from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m., with poster judging starting at 3:30 p.m. and poster viewing/networking starting at 4:30 p.m.

Discounted registration will be available for practitioners interested in attending the ASU Flow 2025 single-day event and for students presenting posters.

Poster Dimensions:

The maximum dimensions are 36 inches high by 48 inches wide; however, your poster can be smaller than this.

Main elements to include in your poster:

Title: The title should be located at the top of the poster.

Name: Include the name of the author(s) or research group below your title.

Visuals: Please use high-resolution images/figures.

    • Goal
    • Methods
    • Results
    • Impact

More Tips:

Font Type

Please choose legible fonts (e.g., Arial, Times New Roman, Calibri, etc.).

Font Size

Use a consistent font type/size throughout your poster. The font should be no smaller than 16 point, with 72 points for titles, at least 36 points for headers and at least 20 points for the body. Feel free to adjust according to the size of your poster, making sure it can be clearly seen from 4 feet away.

Background

Use neutral backgrounds (e.g., white, gray, beige, etc.).

Images

Use a good balance between text and images/figures.

Important note: Posters at this event can be simpler than at a typical conference. Using visuals and displaying a clear message is highly encouraged.
