Intro to Water-Management Modeling with GoldSim Dynamic Simulation Software
Instructor: Jason Lillywhite, P.E. | Date: September 14, 2016 | Time: 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM | Cost: $25* | Limit: 30 people (first-come, first-served)
This hands-on morning session is designed for those who have never used GoldSim before. It will introduce participants to dynamic simulation concepts for water-management modeling. You will become comfortable with GoldSim and develop an understanding of its capabilities and its potential application to projects. This class is not intended to introduce you to all aspects of the GoldSim framework; you’ll need further training and practice to feel comfortable building complex water models. You may want to work through some of the steps on Learning to Use GoldSim prior to attending — but this is not required.
*GoldSim is contributing the instructor’s time and travel expenses. Net proceeds will be donated to AHS to support scholarship and internship programs.
- 8:00 – 9:00 AM: GoldSim applications showcase
- 9:00 – 10:00 AM: Introduction to dynamic simulation
- 10:00 AM – noon: Beginners tutorial (basic elements, intro to simulation)
- Laptop with Windows 7 or later, MS Internet Explorer, MS Excel; mouse; power cord
- GoldSim Pro evaluation license (provided by GoldSim 1 month prior to workshop)
Jason Lillywhite has been using GoldSim since 2005 on consulting projects around the world, and he has worked for GoldSim Technology Group since 2010. He has applied models for water supply and demand forecasting, water rights allocations, reservoir operations, pump station control logic, pipe hydraulics, and scenarios related to stormwater, rainfall runoff, pipe networks, and water reuse.
Jason received an M.S. in civil and environmental engineering from University of Utah in 2008.
