Be Part of the 2016 Annual Symposium.

Our 2016 annual symposium will be held September 14–17 at the Casino Del Sol, located just west of Tucson. Our theme, “Thriving in a Tough Neighborhood, Fortune Favors the Prepared,” will generate some interesting talks on Arizona’s water management successes and plans for a bright future. Check out our program and lineup of technical sessionsspeakers, field trips, and workshops.

Call for Posters!

We’re soliciting posters for the Symposium and invite you to submit an abstract. A list of topics is suggested on the form, but others are welcome. We are particularly interested in topics that are in line with our theme and illustrate how Arizona is prepared for future uncertainties in water supplies. To submit, DOWNLOAD THE ABSTRACT SUBMISSION FORM, complete it, and e-mail it to Molly Collins.

Posters need to be 3.5 x 5 foot (maximum), with your name and university program or organization prominently displayed. They should generally follow the format of  a research paper — an abstract describing the hypothesis and sections on methods and conclusions.

Updates on Opportunities for Students

The CAP grants have been awarded. This program supports students who want to attend this premier annual event and gain valuable exposure to career paths, networking with professionals, and real-world projects. The $80 grants help AHS cover the cost of attendance and meals at our 2-day symposium.

CAP Award for Water Research. CAP is currently evaluating the research papers that were submitted for this award (first place, $1,000; second place: $500) and will announce the winners in August. The CAP will acknowledge the winners during the awards luncheon on Friday, September 16.
